Jane and I were honoured to perform at Handel House (or what's now known as Handel Hendrix House) last Thursday. Tickets for this concert was already sold out in December last year so it was a big occasion for us. We performed arias from Purcell, Handel operas and Bach oratorios and I also performed a solo work, Bach French Suite no 2. Jane wowed the audience with her vocal acrobatics which was really impressive considering she had a horrible cold and hardly any speaking voice! I really enjoyed playing on the restored Kirkman harpsichord. A tiny a bit stressful as I found out two days before the concert I'd be playing on this wonderful instrument due to changes in the museum and I had no chance to practice on it other than on the day of the concert! It was a joy to play on and a massive honour as I was the first person to perform on it in concert after it's restoration. It's a very special and rare harpsichord which is over 200 years old. All in all we had great fun and enjoyed performing these baroque masterpieces in such an apt setting.
