Last year my dear friend Niall O'Riordan was named one of the Rising Stars 2015. Part of this prestigious prize is giving a recital. Niall and I often appear in concert wearing Victorian costumes and we decided to do this again for this recital, performing Fruhling and Briccialdi. Along with playing for all these recitals, I also accompanied Masterclasses with Sir James Galway and Kersten McCall, principal flute player of the Concertgebouw Orchestra.

I was fortunate to perform two wonderful musicians this year at the Galway Flute Festival in Weggis, Switzerland. The first recital was with Karl-Heinz Schutz who is principal solo flute of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a wonderful sensitive chamber music player and it was a real thrill to perform Bach, Prokoffiev, Dutilleux and Andersen with him. The second recital was with the French legend Maxence Larrieu. Together with this charming flautist we performed Bach, Mozart and Debussy. It was a real honour to play with both of these fantastic musicians.
